DRAGON BOAT RACE SCHEDULE 2014 (Tentative)
*************Race Sign-Up Sheet**************** The sport of Dragon Boating is the ultimate team sport where a full boat is made up of 22 participants that are broken down to 20 paddlers, 1 Drummer and 1 Steersmen. The Philadelphia Police Boat Team is a competitive and recreational team that is made up of law enforcement and firefighter personnel. We race competitively in the Dragon Boat event in the World Police Fire Games and participate in festivals and regattas held nationwide. We also participate in outrigger canoe races held around the nation. Any fire fighter or sworn/retired law enforcement officer or agent from a state or federal agency can participate. The boat season begins early April 2014 and continues until the end of October 2014. During the course of the year we will be participating in a combination of Dragon Boat and Outrigger Canoe Regattas. Additionally, the team will be preparing to defend their Gold Medal at the 2015 World Police Fire Games which will be hosted in Fairfax, VA USA. Although this team is primarily made up of law enforcement and fire fighter personnel, civilian paddlers are welcome if they are sponsored by a police paddler and approved by the board. After a few practices and once you feel you are hooked, there will be $75 due for the year, which covers equipment and race fees. Your dues are tax exempt as the team has a 501(c) (3) status. Come Join us. We need your power in our boat! No need to bring anything but a bottle of water. If possible, please complete the waiver form and bring it to the practice. We will have your paddle and life vest at the dock. |
Please fill the form out below. If possible, bring a signed waiver form, located above.
